Yoga Offerings
I’m Colleen. It’s wonderful to meet you. Thank you for being here and sharing an interest in being a student of yoga.
Maybe you picked up yoga using an app, and now, you have questions. Or you’re coming back to the practice after a break, and you want to invest in learning with someone who can help you work with the body as it is presenting, now. Or maybe you are facing life challenges off the mat, and you want to work with someone who will meet you where you are and offer supportive sequences in the mat. Maybe you’re wanting to build strength and confidence, or need a release valve.
I became a yoga teacher because I wanted to deepen my own understanding of these timeless teachings and share the practices that have made such an impact on my own life with others.
I’m not teaching to show you how to get the body to conform to a certain pose, size, or body type. I’m teaching to offer what I know of these practices in a way that will work with where you are, in the moment, on the mat.
I studied under Stephanie Snyder, Susannah Freedman, and Nacera Mekki of Love Story Yoga in San Francisco to complete my 200 hour yoga teacher training and become a certified and insured yoga teacher.
I teach Vinyasa yoga, which links the breath to movement, and offer private yoga lessons on Zoom tailored to your unique needs. During the pandemic, I am teaching private, one on one lessons, as well as group and corporate classes, on Zoom, live from my home studio.
In each session, we will explore all 8 limbs of yoga while moving through the physical asana poses.
Throughout each session, I will be your guide: cueing the breath, cueing the movements into the pose, and then naming the pose. I will also offer opportunities to consider yoga philosophy and chant.
You will offer your own effort. Ask questions. Move. Engage your muscles, just as they are. Sweat. And very likely laugh.
Prior to your first lesson, we will connect so that I can get an understanding of what you are looking for in our time together, so that I am best able to customize each lesson for you.
All classes are 60 minutes in length, hosted on Zoom at the same time each week.
